DanieWs Cell (1836).—The so-called sulphate of copper cells(of various t3qies) are modifications of that devised by Daniell. Theelements are zinc and copper, separated in the original form hy a porce-lain or baked-clay diaphragm. The zinc is immersed in dilute sulphuricacid, and the copper in a saturated solution of sulphate of copper. F. ^ volt.
