In these experiments the variety 'Alaska' was used and the methods were similar to those described for maize. The results of two experiments with peas are presented in Figure 5. From the results the following observations can be made: (a) At all stages the lAA content is much lower than in maize. In the early stages of germination it is extremely low and it increases slowly as germination proceeds. 37.
