Grey catbird (Dumetella carolinensis) on sandy ground. This medium-sized mimid is native to temperate regions of North America and Central America, East of the Rocky Mountains. Mimids (family Mimidae) include mockingbirds and are known for their vocalisation, especially some species' ability to mimic a wide variety of birds and other sounds. Photographed in the lower Rio Grande valley, Texas, USA.
