Early Bougainvilleas. "Where some bougainvilleas are want- ed in flower early and the plants have been kept tolerably dry for some weeks, they can be placed in a warmer house, 62 to 65 degrees at night, freely syringed and given a light location. It will not pay to start too many plants now, as the major portion sell better for Easter. Hydrangeas. "We have had an open fall so far and quite tender plants are blooming early in November. A cold snap is likely to come at any time and it will not pay to take any chances on plants of at all a tender nature after this time. Hy- drangeas will withstand quite a little frost if they are fairly dry at the roots favor and the demand has increased greatly in the last three years. They are impatient of heat and must never be subjected to warm treatment, except it may be when they are making their growth. For Christmas they are ex- cellent sellers and growers should aim to flower as" many as possible at that time.
