The finals of the World Pipe Band Championships was held at Glasgow Green in the city centre and the competition attracted many international and highly acclaimed pipe bands as well as thousands of tourists and spectators who came to support the event. Despite the occasional shower of rain, once again the event was a success and a great promotion for bagpipe music.
