A large numberof tribes have been congregated in a special Indian territory of about70,000 square miles, chiefly between the Red and Arkansas rivers, be-tween the States of Texas, Kansas, Missouri, and Arkansas. Many smalltribes are located here; but the most numerous are the Cherokees, theCreeks, and the Choctaws, while the Chickasaws, Seminoles, Cheyennes,Comanches, and Osages are all in considerable numbers.
