Scottish Blackface sheep, grazing at Malham Moor, Yorkshire Dales National Park, UK
Scottish Blackface sheep, grazing at Malham Moor, Yorkshire Dales National Park, UK. The Blackface sheep is a breed of hill sheep mainly found in Scotland and the border area of northern England. This one is shown in the Yorkshire Dales, where they are not common. However, the Blackface can be seen in many upland areas and is even a popular breed for farmers on Dartmoor. Sheep bred in England are often now called English Blackfaces. The Blackface breed is closely linked with other horned hill breeds, such as the Swaledale.
