A fine wheellock rifle, Jacob Schachtner, Innsbruck, circa 1740. Lightly swamped octagonal barrel with a seven-groove rifled bore in 14 mm calibre. Dovetailed brass front sight with a chiselled, folding rear sight. Floral engraving and the brass-filled mark "VB" (Stöckel, No. 4629) on the breech. Wheellock chiselled with vine designs (trigger bar broken inside) with the signature "JACOB SCHACHTNER". Hair trigger.
