Late Albert A. , Ont.—It was with great re-gret among a wide circle of friends andacquaintances that news was received ofthe death of Albert A. Ayres. was enjoying the best of healthprevious to an operation for appendicitisfrom which he failed to LATE ALBERT A. AYRES. The late Mr. Ayres was born in Montreal in 1886, and shortly after removedto Toronto with his parents, his fatherbeing superintendent of the varnish fac-tory of the Canada Paint Company. Onliis fathers retirement, Mr. Ayres suc-ceeded him and was for a time in chargeof the same factory. Three years agohe came to Ottawa and with J. and Charles Hickman organizedthe Ottawa Varnish Company, Limited,and at the time of his demise was presi-dent and general manager of this firm. The late Mr. Ayres had exceptionalability as a varnish maker as was ex-emplified by the consummate success ofthe firm in which he was the main-spring. A. J. Ayres, father of the from the West to attend hisson \s funeral and at present is residing in Ottawa.
