To qualify for the gold wings, the Marines, who received their basic parachutist qualification at the Army Airborne School at Fort Benning, Ga., had to complete five additional jumps after Airborne School, including two day jumps and two night jumps wearing a full combat load as well as one jump any time of day without combat load. Twelve Marines from Air Delivery Platoon made their final necessary jump, a night combat jump, at Clark Air Base, Philippines, during Exercise Talon Vision. Parker, the platoon sergeant for Air Delivery Platoon, was the jumpmaster for the jump. Lance Cpl. Lecrecia Pettit was not present for the presentation ceremony, but she received her wings later.
