When all department! per-form their various duties in a credit-aide manner the college is recognizedas worthy of a place among the wide,awake up-to-date institutions of theday; whereas, if the work connectedwith one or two departments happensto fall short of attaining to a fair de-gree of merit, the college as a wholesuffers. In other words, the reputationof any college depends to a very greatextent on the successful administrationof its individual interests. To be sure,certain departments arc more influentialin this respect than are others, but thefact still remains that every activity,great or small, directly or indirectlysupported by or in any way connectedwith the college, plays its own partin molding public opinion. It wouldseem wise, therefore, for the collegeto carefully consider its various inter-ests, to improve
