As dawn breaks, the rising sun casts its rays onto the windows and the steel structures of the pencil-thin 828 metres (2, ft) Burj Khalifa (Tower Khalifa) and nearby tower in downtown Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Burj Khalifa is the tallest in the world and opened in 2010. It has 160 live-in stories of which three are observation decks, Levels 124,125 and 148, open to the public, giving wide-sweeping panoramic views. Actor Tom Cruise physically climbed the building for "Mission: Impossible film, Ghost Protocol”.
