The word is derivedfrom Kvju.€os, a WOMAN PrAYINO WITH CYMBALA. The cymbal was a very ancient instru-ment, being used in the worship of Cybele,Bacchus, Juno, and all the earlier deities ofthe Grecian and Roman mythology. Itprobably came from the East.
