On the wall opposite the map are twomural paintings depicting the history ofwestern transportation, contrasting the pio-neer wagon train with todays modern motorcars and airplanes. The segmented vaulted ceiling is paintedsky blue and creates an outdoor effect whichharmonizes with the treatment of maps andmurals. A walnut wainscoting and counter ex-tend the full length of the room, which isdecorated with gold bands in modernisticdesign, adding greatly to the richness of theinterior. The
