This painting of Thomas Moore was done by Hans Hokbein and is housed in Windsor Castle in England. Sir Thomas More was an English lawyer, judge, social philosopher, author, statesman, and noted Renaissance humanist. He also served Henry VIII as Lord High Chancellor of England from October 1529 to May 1532. Hans Holbein the Younger (died 1543) was a German-Swiss painter and printmaker who worked in a Northern Renaissance style, and is considered one of the greatest portraitists of the 16th century.
