The range is known as the Sinaitic Mountains, tak-ing its name from its most noted peak. We are now in one of the noted and interesting locali-ties of the world. Nowonder the mountain is a noted one, and that it has beensaid that Mount Sinai looks like a huge altar of it stands in solemn silence and solitary grandeur, sur-rounded by death and desolation, and reflects the terriblemajesty and holiness of God.
