THE ROYAL NAVY DURING THE SECOND WORLD WAR - A drifter waiting alongside the AUTOCARRIER to take crews back to their ships in Scapa Flow. The cross-channel steamer AUTOCARRIER, which used to transport the cars of holiday makers to and from France before the Second World War, was now acting as a recreation ship for the crews of the many Home Fleet Auxiliary vessels which attended to the servicing needs of the Royal Navy.
