The drawing ofhis enamel portraits is good, but he nevermastered the difficulties of fusible colours. Hiswork is not uncommon. Michael Moser (1704-83) was one of theoriginal members of the Royal Academy. Hebegan his art life as a jeweller, and wassingularly gifted and many-sided in art. Hisenamels are good, and rare. Among otherarts Moser was an excellent sculptor, and issupposed to have engraved the first great seal. Q <X «^
