Margaret Buckingham (born 1945), British-French developmental biologist, at a 'Speed Science' event organised to allow 100 young people to meet a range of eminent French scientists. Buckingham has worked at the Pasteur Institute since 1987. Her research is on the formation of muscle and heart tissues. Made a Knight of the Legion of Honour in 2002, and elected a member of the French Academy of Sciences in 2005, she was elected Foreign Member of the Royal Society in 2013.
