This image may not be used to state or imply ESA endorsement of any company or product Second Ariane 2 launch, 1987. This launch was the second of the Ariane 2 rocket. It took off from Ariane Launch Complex number 2 (ELA-2) at the Guiana Space Centre, French Guiana, on 21 November 1987. The launch was named V20, and carried TV-Sat 1, Germany's first direct broadcasting satellite, into orbit. There were only six Ariane 2 launches.
