Perception of sensations of touch, heat, etc. But it is the secretions of the fat glands and the perspi- ration (see Fig. yy) that give rise to the need for special attention to the skin. The best way to remove the accu- mulated wastes and dirt is by means of hot water and soap, with the help of a brush. But hot baths have a debilitating effect, forcing the blood into the capillaries of the skin and thus away from the muscles, brain, and internal organs.
