Anglingwas a favorite pursuit of the wealthy in Egypt, andwas followed by the poor who could not afford anet; the requisites were a hook and a line (Jobxli. 1; Is. xix. 8; Hab. i. 15); the rod was oc-casionally dispensed with, and is not mentionedin the Bible.
