The vestigial teeth are indicated by enclosing their abreviations in brackets. The calcified tooth-vestigies are in- dicated as black masses. The second upper incisor i% exhibits a constant labial develop- ment of the dental lamina and in all cases a small irregular calcified toothlet is found related to this; in the older stages the enlargement of ü displaces i? backwards but the labial toothlet is not disturbed hence it appears to develop at this stage besides £i, this toothlet al- most cut the gum. Between f? and the next functional incisor is a somewhat larger gap through which the dental lamina is continued, in this diastema in two stages a small labial calcification was observed in relation to an outgrowth of the dental lamina and in one specimen a second calcification was observed in connection with the deeper seated dental lamina the latter having the relation to the former of a successor to its predecessor, this is evidently the lost incisor and from its position must be l\ The 3rd functional incisor now £1, shows in four of the stages a labial outgrowth from the neck of its enamel organ, and related to this is frequently a small calcified toothlet. The last upper incisor ^ is very late to develop and occasionally shows a small labial outgrowth of the dental lamina. The lower incisors in the adult are three in number, but in the young traces of 5 may be identified. The first lower incisor il, is quite vestigial appearing only as a slight isolated swelling of the dental lamina. The second lower in-. Please note that th
