The La Nef Solaire giant sundial at the Tavel Nord service area on the A9 Languedocienne motorway in the south of France.

This is one of the largest sundials in the world and was built immediately to the north of the A9 Languedocienne motorway in southern France in 1993. It consists of two large concrete pyramids which act as gnomons reaching to a height of just over 50 ft ( m), one showing the time in the morning and the other the afternoon. The sundial shows solar time and there are tables inscribed on surrounding pillars to allow conversion to standard time. The sundial was designed by the sculptor Odile Mir and the 'gnomoniste' Denis Savoie.
