It is avigorous grower, doing well either on its own roots or graftedand should be grown where a good single is wanted. Other varieties, of which a list may be obtained from thevarious dealers in young stock, may appeal to different culti-vators. All of them will be more or less acceptable to theircustomers and consequently more or less profitable. It is always good policy to order necessary stock in thisline early to avoid delay and disappointment. But if youcan grow your own, so much the better. 122 COMMERCIAL ROSE CULTURE. They should be pottedas soon as rooted and with careful treatment will make niceplants for the following year. Or a hotbed may be preparedand covered with a little good loam with several inches ofclean sand on top. Firm this down carefully and insertthe cuttings in it not too thickly. If desired they may beleft here until late Fall, or even over Winter, as they will rootdown into the soil below.
