View S of Cademuir Hill, Scottish Borders, UK, showing an Iron Age hillfort on the two main summits of the ridge: Cademuir I on the NE summit (L) & Cademuir II on the lower SW spur (R). Cademuir I contained at least 35 timber huts within a single stone wall 3m (10ft) thick. Cademuir II is smaller but with a rampart 6m (20ft) thick, three external enclosures & a chevaux-de-frise (a defensive setting of upright stones) in a hidden dip on the NE.
