WW2 German Luftwaffe Target Aerial Reconnaissance Photos 1939 – 1942 – This was the historic airfield that the famous legless WW2 pilot Douglas Barder flew from and where the film "Reach For The Sky" was filmed. The airfield was heavily bombed during the blitz and this photograph is one of a series taken during one of the raids and shows bombs going off.
