Weights in July were intermediate. Coryphae- noides carapinus is a winter spawner. Co-occurring species.âA number of other spe- cies were commonly taken in the same trawls which took Corypliaenoides carapinus. These include the fishes Antiinora rostrata, Alepocephalus agassizi, Halosauropsis macrochir, and Bathy- saurus agassizi, the ophiuroids Ophiomusium lyinani and Ophiura Ijungmani, the asteroids Zoro- aster fulgens, Benthopecten spinosus, and Pectin- aster forcipatus, the holothurian Paelopatides gigantea, and echinoids, genus Echinus. Prelimi- nary analyses of our deeper trawls, following the philosophy and approach of our shallower work (Haedrich, Rowe, and Polloni, 1975), suggest that this assemblage of species is characteristic of a zone associated with the base of the continental slope and the upper continental rise. Helminth parasites found in Corphaenoides carapinus include the digenetic trematodes Glomericinus n. sp., Gonocera (probably phy- cidis), and an unidentified zoogonid, the trypano- rhynch Grillotia {Paragr
