The coughbecomes chronic;tubercles form in thelungs, increase in size as the disease ad-vances, soften and are removed, in the actof coughing, in the shape of a liquidresembling pus; abscesses and cavitiesare formed in the lungs; the surroundingtissue is decomposed, blood-vessels arebroken, and the heart pumps the bloodthrough the lung substance to the Consumption is dangerousin consequence of the character of the. tissue invaded.
