Prussia: A helmet of 1842 pattern for grenadiers., A tall leather skull with a slightly crazed lacquer finish, with mountings of brass. The grenadiers' eagle badge is of the older pattern (two attachment holes were expertly filled in sometime during its active service). Cambered chinscales, secured to an officers' pattern cockade on the right side. The attachment posts are incorrect replacements. The black leather liner shows signs of ageing, but has been expertly restored. Size 56 1/2. A very well preserved helmet of eminent importance for German military hist,
