An autumn scene of the snow-capped mountain range near the main highway, E10, in Myrland on the Lofoten islands in northern Norway, Scandinavia. The Lofoten is an archipelago that stretches out into the North Atlantic Ocean above the Arctic Circle on the west coast. The region is known for its dramatic and picturesque scenery, very popular with tourism for its high peaks, fjords and numerous small fishing villages with dark red painted wooden buildings with white window and door frames. Some have grass roofs.
