These lessons present the environment of these men, theiraims, their hardships and enjoyments, their efforts to overcomedifficulties, the results of these efforts and their influence uponthe making of history. Since History stories are full of problems which may stim-ulate the thinking power, these are presented orally, chiefly bymeans of development questions; the pupils are required tothink the results of various conditions presented to them. Theteacher should also make use of narration, descriptions and read-ings from books; maps, blackboard sketches, pictures and otherillustrative material. P
