Verona, Veneto, Italy. Stone arch adjoining the Palazzo del Comune in the Piazza dei Signori.

The city of Verona, capital of the province of the same name, was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000. The Palazzo del Comune was built in the 12th century and its red and white striped walls are a fine example of the Romanesque style of architecture seen also on the city's cathedral.
