The Los Angeles Union Station opened in 1939 and now serves more than 60,000 passengers a day on nationwide and state Amtrak trains and local Metrolink trains to Southern California destinations. The exterior and interior of the impressive railway depot has been the background for dozens of motion pictures, television shows, music videos and video games. LA's Union Station is California's major railway passenger terminal and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
