HELMAND PROVINCE, Afghanistan (June 3, 2018) — A soldier with 2nd Kandak, 2nd Brigade, Afghan National Army (ANA) 215th Corps takes notes in an offensive and defensive tactics course during the Operational Readiness Cycle (ORC) taught by ANA 215th Corps instructors at Camp Shorabak. The ORC is a two-month-long course, which allows soldiers to take leave, solve administrative issues, adopt lessons learned, and train for their next assignment on the front lines. The soldiers within the kandaks are then separated into their specialty groups to further their education in their area of expertise.
