Its historyheyond that is unknown. As will be seen bythe illustration, it is of peculiar shape, beingdistinct and unlike any other Pumpkin orSquash; it is oval, and tapers toward each is of a creamy color both inside and vines are very hardy and prolific, alwaysyielding a certain crop. It is early and keepslate. Its chief value is for PumpMn Pies. Be-ing fine grained and rich flavored, it makes asuperior quality of Pies. It has none of thecoarse and stringy character so common toother varieties. By being stored in a warm,dry place, the pumpkins can be preserved untillate in winter.
