Melbourne Hall was once the home of Prime Minister William Lamb who as Lord Melbourne gave his name to the Australian city. It is now the seat of the Marquis of Lothian. Thomas Cook, founder of world wide travel agency Thomas Cook and son, was born here in 1808.
