Alexander Winfield McCoy was born in Hanover township,Beaver County, Pa., August 14, 1852, the son of William Nancy (Campbell) McCoy. He was educated in the publicschools, later attended New Sheffield Academy and Westminster. Thomas 1835. Died, 1865. Having studied law with Samuel , Esq., of Beaver, he was admitted to practise in theseveral courts of this county, June 10, 1878. He was a diligentworker in his chosen profession, in which he had high hopes ofsuccess, when he was stricken with typhoid fever in the fall of1890, and died November 3d of that year. He is survived byhis widow, Mrs. Elizabeth C. McCoy, who is a successful teacherin the public schools of Rochester, Pa., and principal of theSecond Ward building. Ellis N. Bigger was born in Hanover township, WashingtonCounty, Pa., in 1856, on the farm now owned by the heirs ofAlexander McConnell. His parents were Thomas and Mary(Nicholson) Bigger. He was the eldest of three children, andwas reared in Hanover township, Beaver County, his parentsha
