Surfing school at Westward Ho!

The beautiful flat, open sandy beach at Westward Ho! in North Devon is a superb play area when the tide is out, giving plenty of space for families with children, dog walkers, kite flyers and surfers. When the conditions are right, the Atlantic rollers are popular with surfers of all ages, and local surfing schools are frequently on the beaches. The pebble ridge protecting Northam Burrow extends from the Taw/Torridge estuary right up to Westward Ho!, approximately 2 miles.
