The Museum of Witchcraft at Boscastle a year after the devastating flood of 16th August 2004

The green plaque to the top right of the door indicates the level of the flood. The flood was caused by the remnants of Hurricane Alex coming in off the Atlantic ocean. Five inches of rain fell on Bodmin Moor and the water was then funnelled down the steep sided valley of the River Valency and through Boscastle.
