It was opened in 1993, and is very popular and crowded during rush hour. The system is not a single continuous escalator but a series of escalators and 3 inclined moving walkways or travelators connected by The Central Escalator system is truly an innovative way to move people, and has become a popular tourist attraction in its own right.
