Sea slugs. Pair of nudibranchs or true sea slugs (Chromodoris willani). Their bright colouration warns predators that they are poisonous. The gills (fanlike structures, centre left and upper right) are used for respiration. The pair of hornlike rhinophores (lower right) are used to sense chemicals in the water. Nudibranchs feed on invertebrates on the seabed. They have the ability to store toxins from their prey, such as sea anemones, which they can later use in defence. Photographed in Malaysia.
