The making ofblue prints by electric light has been carried to the point where plate glass disappears from theapparatus used. The machineconsists of a large woodencylinder, which is made torevolve slowly in front of thelamp, and any good photo-engravers lamp will do. Atransparent traveling apronmoves with the drum. Theapron is reeled up on a smalldrum at the bottom of themachine, and this and theupper roller upon which it isw^ound keep it in tensionsufficient to always hold the tracing and printing paper close togetherand against the large drum. The tracing and sensitized paper are fedin under the moving transparent apron at the top, and both are receivedin a box placed below the large drum. The driving mechanism canbe operated by belt from shop shafting or run by a small electricmotor.
