A fine pair of flintlock pistols with brass barrels, Cassaignard, Nantes, circa 1800. Two-stage brass barrels, octagonal breech section, changing to round after a moulded girdle, with cannon muzzles and smooth bore in 16 mm calibre. Smooth flintlocks with brass pans and lock plates signed "CASSAIGNARD A NANTES". Smooth walnut stocks with brass furniture and pommel caps shaped as bird's heads .
