The castle of Suria is located on the highest part of a hill overlooking the Cardener river within the old town of Suria, in the Bages. The old castle of Suria began to be built in the 8th century by the Dukes of Barcelona, on which it depended. It served to protect the road from the salt that was transported from Cardona to Manresa. From the 12th-13th centuries, the keep is preserved (12th century), which has been located inside the building in the subsequent rehabilitation that was carried out. Originally, the castle of Suria was part of the border line with the Saracens, which passed through the Cardener river.
