MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII - Marines attached to the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit to fight during Martial Arts Instructors Course 1-17’s Pugil Sticks station at Dewey Square aboard Marine Corps Base Hawaii on May 1, 2017. The MAIC is a three week long course that’s puts students through various training to include paper test, physical training and evaluations on properly teaching techniques. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group/11th MEU is currently underway on their Western Pacific 16-2 deployment.
