PresidentHarrison, Postmaster-General Wanamakcr andother Government officials occupied scats onthe stage, and about four hundred inventorsand manufacturers from all parts of the countryfilled the house. Many interesting papers wereread and a permanent organization was formed,to be known as The American Association ofInventors and Manufacturers, having for itsobject the advancement of industrial inventions.
