Dozens of South Texas residents in Willacy County participate in the annual Port Mansfield Beach Cleanup, an effort to clear trash from the Port Mansfield East Cut and jetties that washes in from the Gulf of Mexico. The cleanup generates tons of plastics and other waste from the pristine beaches and marshes of South Padre Island.
