The seed, plant and bulb schedule of the revised tariff bill was passed by the Senate Friday, August 15. When the schedule was reached. Senator Brandegee, of Connecticut, wanted to know why the changes were made in the schedule, as he noticed the law pro- vides "and all other decorative green- house plants," twenty-five per cent. Senator Williams, of Mississippi, said that this was transferred from para- graph 215 to 216. The former asked if it covered decorative plants and greenhouse plants. "We thought so," said Senator Williams. "The green- house people told us it ought to be there and not in the other ; Senator Brandegee noted that it gave a lower duty. He said the old law provided that azaleas should come in at twenty- five per cent ad valorem and a change is made so that Azalea Indica comes in at that rate, but nothing is said about other azaleas. "From the same author- ity we gather that this would cover the azalea," said
