Versos of prints and slide mounts were not digitized. The information in any handwritten identifications found on these surfaces was incorporated into the metadata for individual images. All digital images are cropped to the edge of the frame and are not color-corrected. Photographic production materials for Cities of Mughul India: Delhi, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri is a small portion of the Wim Swaan photograph collection, 1951-1995. This larger collection consists of approximately 34,450 black-and-white negatives, contact prints and enlargements and approximately 13,450 color transparencies, slides and prints by a photographer and practicing architect who traveled widely, documenting the art and architecture of various cultures. In addition to photographic materials produced for publications, the collection includes photographic materials not associated with any publication and professional correspondence. Biographical Note: South African-born architect and photographer Wim Swaan (1927-1995) illustrated more than eighteen books on the art and architecture of various cultures across five continents.
